View Full Version : Metro 1 and Premier, Who's your pick this far in?

27-11-2007, 08:06 PM
Anyone have their pick for these grades after the rounds that have completed?
Can Altona continue to come back?
Will the Clayton train roll on and win?
Are there any Dark Horses that no one has given a chance going to surprise
Will Richmond Union do any good?
must be plenty of possibilities.
And your selections are?

Altona are probably one of the better sides we have played this year so I would probably have to tip them for Premier.
Don't think you can go past Clayton in Divi 1.

Is that the Individuals or the Invincables. Only joking Lads. I hope Clayton do get up! It would make premier division a lot stronger. Can't see them getting beaten.

In Premier, I think Melbourne is the best team we've played by a mile. However, teams seem to do funny things against us. Altona were vile the day we played them (No disresepect, great bunch of blokes and awesome bowlers) and the GEMS were very very good the other week.

Fishing for bites again hey ???
I don't need to say that atleast we were in the Prem finals do I ??

And who is the best leader in the West ??
But Mooney Valley are awesome !! A good 30 points behind top and not going anywhere. Hopefully we'll at least make the finals to have a chance of choking..

Middle of the road in easy Divi 1. Tut, tut.

Melbourne vs Altona slight leaning to Altona. They both have easily the best front half.

Division 1 Section 1 Rockets in a breeze
Division 1 Section 2 Raffle Armadale or Moonee Valley. Hampton and Altona 2 some chance.
Division 1 Section 3 Clayton morals
Division 1 Section 4 Mentone or Yarra Glen.

U would think Clayton Rosamond would get promoted but funnier things have happened. Lean towards Clayton.

I would put Dave Kelly and Peter Ware from Werribee up there as two of the better leaders in Group 9 (Although both play 3 in pennant they are 2 of the best I have seen)
And Reed Chanter from Rosamond.

For your info king we r 20 points from top. we have won 5 of last 6 and in the loss won 3 rinks. We beat Hampton by 31 shots away 2 weeks ago and they knocked off Altona at Altona last week. After a slow start we r hitting our straps and we r more than a chance to finsh top. We have a new recruit this week from the country who will play 3rd in our only suspect rink at the moment. We will know in 3 weeks. Anyway i hop the finals r not on plastic. I was stirring Rosamond players by the way. best leader in the west JB. Not from Moonee Valley either.

If your looking for the best leader look no further than a certain lady bowler from RU who week in week out puts 65% + of her bowls down within mat length of the kitty. The other 35% aren't that far out either.
Oh, and she's a world champion........

We lost the elimination final to Clayton by 2 shots, which went for 2 days (rain) and the second day one of our thirds didn't play through family issues. Clayton went on and won the Premiership, if that's choking then we do a lot of it!

How many finals have you played in Above Divi 2 Shoom ??
You win one Group Champion of Champions, and all of a sudden you're a guru of all things bowls.
Well you've got a long way to go.
And if you're still at Moonee Valley in 5 years, we'll know you never got there.

Fair enough. No guru. I did play in the Division 1 finals for Moonee Ponds about 6 years ago. U better than anyone should know that u must enjoy your bowls and the world doesn't stop if u don't play PLeague. I lasted 1 year with dougy. M/ponds is a crap club. mercanry club. I played at Bundoora for a year and had to leave because of distance. I have played at moonee valley since. Great bunch of blokes. If we dont go up in the next 2 years i will probably try my hand somewhere else. Without kidding myself i know i can play premier league.

Looking forward to the W/bee Moonee clash on Sat. Will be great for us if we can win as we would go into the 2nd half 5-4 and with 5 games on the carpet to come. Will be a tough ask tho. Any truth to the rumour that Galloway is not skipping this week?

Galloway definetly not skipping. Either Wilson or Colonel Sanders(Richard) from my reports. I dont see why benny loughlin shouldn't get a chance.

We lost our last home game to Altona2, which because we played in finals were below us (funny that), there is no shame to losing to them as you found out Round 1 and will find out again in 2 weeks.
