I'm going to have a crack at the ACT Open qualifiers in Sept.
Just wondering who (besides Trentan in the singles) were the qualifiers from last year (Singles, Pairs & Triples if you can remember). Can't find any info on the web.

Anyone else from bowlsworld having a shot this year?

You posted this a while ago but here is the link to last years Qualifiers:
http://www.bowls-aust.com.au/fileadmin/ ... tries.html (http://www.bowls-aust.com.au/fileadmin/user_upload/bowls_aus/Events/Australian_Open/09/entries.html)

I have just entered the ACT singles Qualifying for the 2010 AO open. Might have entered the pairs if I knew someone who was interested!!

Trent must have qualified in another state.

Yeh I agree but I want to get on TV

Was thinking of taking the missus somewhere for a break and slipped in a game of bowls as well. Only thing I dont know is what day the singles is on.

I'll probably be the only Yass player there (white shirt with blue stars), I've also got black bowls with blue painted dimples, can't miss em (probably just being black bowls stand's out enough these days!)

Entries close today, hopefully the draw will be out next week!

From what i read though, they still have to decide whether they conduct it as a knockout or round robin.

Anymore forumites having a crack besides major ball, and myself?

The draw should be out tonight.

Going to be tough 1 position for around every 9 Bowlers(39 Players contesting for 4 positions).

QLD event it was about 1 in 4(60 players for 14 positions).

Looking forward to the weekend away!!

Look forward to seeing some forumites there! Who did you draw?

I drew a bye then Peter Watts in the second game. Just looking at his form, he qualified for the aus indoor singles with ian whybrow previously. Looks to be a quality field right through, no easy games.

If i've picked out who you are, it looks like your whole family is playing in the triples!! :get outa here:
Good luck, there is no better prize than playing in an event whith family. Winning is just extra special!
Where are you from?

I've drawn Andrew Howie. No idea who anyone is so makes no difference. I doubt you'd enter if you couldn't roll a bit.

Looking forward to saying g'day to everyone and enjoying a cleansing ale or 2.

Bit pissed off about the call for losers to mark at this level and with the 30 buck entry. It's not exactly like it's a massive field.

Best of luck everyone and I'll see you there!!

I'll be the guy wearing nail polish who is constantly eating Starburst lollipops.

You're right, Andrew is a pretty far young bowler. He skips the ACT state side, and is a member of the Tuggeranong side that won the no1 pennant this season.
He also got through to the quaters or semi's of the PBA this week - Glasson knocked him out.

Look forward to seeing you there, i might turn up early and watch your game, it should be a bottler!!

Good luck all for those participating.

I'll be leaving work soon, picking up the old man at the airport and probably have a few quiet beers.

We may attempt to play bowls tomorrow as well.
