Either you have dry hands, as do I, or your bowl is too big.
If you tend to get dry hands, use sorbelene, or the like (some sort of hand lotion), a little while before bowling.

Love your work, Swifty!:)
I agree. It has been a pain. The old problem of forever yelling out to the second for the score has returned. I'd rather have the card. My opinion has hardened after returning to the old rule.
You forgot 'true'.

I could not have put it any better, Swifty. The imagined "silent majority" (read; whingers) have had a win. What's that I hear, another squeaky wheel getting some grease?
There are many more...
I've been in Esperance now for over 6 years and we have two woven carpet greens. Both run at around 17 secs depending upon weather conditions. Both have a true line and no discernible runs. They were...
Once again, showing your ignorance, I see.
You really are a bitter, small-minded man, PJ.
We've lost one of the greats. He summed it up best, himself,
"I've never said I'm immortal. I do believe in correct language. I'm eternal; I'm not immortal."
Vale, Gough.
I am no greenkeeper, but I wholeheartedly agree with GG and Dunny!
Be very wary of tight bowls, especially in smaller sizes, if you play in windy conditions on a regular basis. Here in Esperance, we play on 17+ sec greens and those that jumped at the Aeros (all...
Good one, Swifty!
I particularly like 3 & 4.
Good work.
PS: I would slightly alter 7 to read, "Some of your favourite music is thought to be new, by the latest generation. Ha ha ha ha!!
We have a lot of old blokes over here who hate any sort of change most of the time, but who keeps the card is just not an issue. I can't see how people can get their knickers in a twist over a minor,...
I agree with all of the above. Those who carry on about seconds having the card do seem to ignore the fact that skips keep it in ALL other formats.
Some people just love their teacup storms.
Get an MRI. That is the most accurate way of determining the damage.
In my case, I probably left it a little late; twenty years too late.
It only hurts until the pain goes away.:friendly_wink:
I got rid of the sling yesterday, by the way. Now the rehab starts and it's almost as painful as the bloody injury!
Oh well, it will get...
I watched some of the Para stuff. Amazing, especially the bloke bowling with his foot!
The pace? I've done some rough timing and the greens would be running 13, at best. They also appear to have...
Did you register?

The Bowls isn't always available, but I saw the match in question on Tenplay. It's a bit of pot luck as to which match is on,...
Cheers, Beejay! I don't feel a day over 59! :smile-new:
Everything is on track. It's just that it takes a lot of time; in the sling for 6 weeks and more than likely, 6 months of rehab.
Oh well ...:applause:
The injections I've had a number of times...
I play on 17 sec + carpet and use the Almark Edge Plus. They are the best bowl I've used.
So basically, it's what you feel comfortable with using.
I'm working on becoming the world's first bionic bowler, so that's food for thought. :biggrin-new:
It worked for the new knee, so I'll just have to grin and bear it. I'll be doing everything they say, Swifty.
Sleeping is a pain in the arse, though.
Well, all went as well as possible, especially after finding a bit more damage than expected.
I now must keep my arm in sling for 6 weeks before being allowed to do any physio; bloody annoying...
