    Re: Drakes Pride LS-125

Great insights Tim. Maybe you should quit ya day job and become a bowls reviewer?? Only issue is you have already reviewed 20 sets so only a couple left so will only fill a weekend :cheerful:

    Only...

    Re: Drakes Pride LS-125

Thanks Tim for the update. They certainly sound like an older Prem which is a good thing. Some of the best older bowlers down our way have hung onto their Prems for the past 10 or so years and as you...

Sorry to hear about the XGs. I just landed a new set of xgs(went down a size) and yet to test them so hopefully its one off issue but good to hear they were understanding...

Solid choice Soggy. There are many XGs gracing the greens and for good reason, they are a versatile bowl... Can play lead to skip with them and perform well in the wind.

    All the best with them...

    Soggy,

You mention aero.. Maybe Optima could help as you want a bowl to arc which these certainly do. I play with XGs and agree they are not the best feeling bowl in the hand but perform above...

Chalks I am sure those tri-coloured Aero bowls were certainly more interesting to look at than those boring Red things of yours :biggrin-new:

ha ha can always rely on Tim for an update on a new bowl... Thanks Tim, saves me buying a set. :drunk:
  8. Re: new bowler very confused about what bowls to get first

    Gday Chris,

Some sound advice above. I would definatley hit up your club coach as Mad_Dad said to organise lessons and use of different sets of bowls. All clubs would have a myriad of sets to use....

    Soggy,

Agree with Fatty around the SRV especially with you being in an area with traditionally firmer and faster greens. A number of bowlers play with SRVs here and yes they do struggle on slow...

Tim why don't you just buy a set, give us a detailed report, use them for 2 months and sell them???? Sorry mate had to go there!! :biggrin-new:

I emailed Henselite to gain more info. I mentioned I already have a set of XGs, raptors and fusions (just sold) and wanted to know where the cruze fits. The reply I received was the bias chart on the...

Have to agree the raptors are a better all round bowl compared to fusions and they dont have that late hook of the XG..The more I use my Raptors the more I am impressed with them (still have the XG...
