    Hello, World!

Hi, I am a newbie to bowls. From my user name you can guess my origin. I am a dinkum Aussie and have been so for 46 years. I have joined Darebin City Bowls Club for its excellent indoor and outdoor greens and within 15min drive from home. Intrigued with the design of bowls. Still don't believe in a truly balanced sole since there has to be a difference to the radius gradient to have a bias at all, but would love to hear from more knowledgeable members how (a) the shape of the trajectory can be altered from hook to harbour-bridge (b) how you can design a narrow bias bowl and still make the WB standards. I have just bought a secondhand set of Drakes Pride Conquest 4H 23 ungripped which seems to be an all-rounder but still narrower than the Classic. Very nice feel in the hand. I have been recommended to use a bowling arm due to previous back surgery and have bought a secondhand bionic brand one. Love to hear from my seniors and other newbies!
